Universal Pictures has just released a new Oppenheimer movie trailer and it shows glimpses of the laboratory at Los Alamos. Christopher Nolan’s biopic stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, Emily Blunt as his wife Katherine, Matt Damon as General Leslie Groves Jr., director of the Manhattan Project, and Robert Downey, Jr. portraying Lewis Strauss, a founding commissioner of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission.
The trailer also teases the testing of the first atomic bomb at the Alamogordo Bombing Range located around 210-miles south of Los Alamos, New Mexico. Some other familiar characters include Florence Pugh playing psychiatrist Jean Tatlock, Benny Safdie as theoretical physicist Edward Teller, Michael Angarano portraying Robert Serber and Josh Hartnett as American nuclear scientist Ernest Lawrence. Oppenheimer hits theaters on July 21, 2023 in the US and UK.
