TheDevAtlas just so happened to have a broken Oculus VR headset that someone destroyed at work laying around, so he decided to combine it with a Wii U and create a virtual reality device that puts the Virtual Boy to shame.
First, he needed to figure out how the Wiimote and its gravitron gyro works before developing a custom game that would actually work in VR. Normalizing the three sensors might have been the toughest task, as this part is key to achieving accurate rotations. Lastly, he developed a Beat Saber clone using Guitar Hero songs as his method of spawning notes to the beat.

This project was created to help me understand how sensors can interact together. My research included different filtering methods and among the two I found I settled on the Madgwick filter. This filter was pioneered by Doctor Sebastian Madgwick in 2012 and I was able to various levels of success get it implemented in C# with Unity,” said TheDevAtlas.
