Northrop Grumman B-21 Raider
Northrop Grumman’s B-21 Raider is a next-generation heavy bomber under development for the United States Air Force (USAF) and set for its first flight test in 2022, with active duty slated for 2025. This aircraft is part of the Long Range Strike Bomber program (LRS-B) and designed to be an advanced very long-range, large, heavy-payload stealth intercontinental strategic bomber capable of delivering conventional and thermonuclear weapons. Final assembly of the B-21 Raider is expected to happen at United States Air Force Plant 42 near Palmdale, California, the very same facility used during the 1980s-1990s for Northrop B-2 production. Since this is a highly classified program, very little information has been released, especially concerning the technical details, but as of summer 2019, construction of the first unit is underway.
