Oculus VR Palmer Luckey Anduril Anti-Drone
Oculus co-founder Palmer Luckey’s new company, Anduril Industries, Inc., is developing anti-drone tech that smashes them out of the sky. Their main focus currently is Lattice AI, which is software that can be installed in many different devices, such as surveillance towers, camera systems or drones, to enable them to autonomously detect as well as respond to any threats. Whether it be the company’s Sentry Towers, Ghost UAS (a single-rotor patrol drone), or its new Interceptor drone, which is designed to threats out of the air. Anduril’s Anvil is an anti-drone drone equipped with electro-optical and infrared sensors that allow it to detect, track, and intercept targets. A human operator can view the Anvil’s feed through a handheld controller and issues the final command to launch an attack at a speed of around 100 mph. It takes out hostile drones from below and has its battery, along with motors, optimized for short but quick flights.

The best way to kill fast drones piloted by hostile humans is with even faster drones piloted by AI! The United States cannot allow the skies of the world to turn into the Wild West, our ability to take out aerial threats in a matter of seconds is part of the solution,” said Luckey on Twitter.
