Front-facing smartphone cameras have never matched the quality of the rear sensors, which means selfie quality is typically not up to par. Oppo Mobile Telecommunications’ utility patent, published on December 23, 2021, shows a device with a small rear display that would solve the issue. Put simply, you would be able to take exceptional selfies using the rear camera system.

These sketches show that there could be a number of configurations for both the rear display and camera sensors. They range from a small circular display to a larger rectangle-shaped one. When can you expect to see this in an Oppo handset? The soonest would probably be spring of 2022, when the Oppo Find X5 series is launched.
