One modder has created a bizarre PC case mod that puts the hardware in the heart of a giant fan. More specifically, a Mini ITX motherboard, an Intel Sandy Bridge processor, and a factory heatsink that didn’t fare so well in a spinning fan.
The factory CPU heatsink just didn’t keep the system cool enough, as even spinning at full speed, tests showed that the processor reached 100 degrees Celsius. However, it did how that having a complete PC system spin violently in the center of a fan does not cause any operating issues. So, the modder decided to use an even larger passive air cooler, but the final testing run didn’t quite end as expected.
