We already know that the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT is fast, but how does it stack up against its petrol-powered counterpart, the 911 Turbo S? CarWow pits the EV against two to find out just which vehicle reigns supreme, with one being a tuned variant.
For starters, the Taycan Turbo GT is heavy, or a hefty 5,213 pounds, but more than makes up for it with its dual electric motor setup that generates 1,092 hp and 988 lb-ft of torque. Now the 3,615 pound Turbo 911 S is lighter, although makes slightly less power from its twin-turbocharged 3.8L flat-six engine with 640 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. To makeup for that power difference, there’s a tuned 911 Turbo S racing alongside these two with 1,100 hp and 800 lb-ft of torque.

That tuned 911 is just too powerful to get its power down from a standstill, I knew it would mash the half mile from rolling. A lower RPM launch control would be beneficial mapped in to help it build momentum off the line. The EV done surprisingly good on the brake test,” said one commenter.
