Abe wanted to build a dream mini computer that combined a good keyboard with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution display, and what he ended up with was the Slimdeck Zero. It’s powered by PicoVision, which consists of two Raspberry Pi Pico RP2040 chips, with one driving an HDMI port, and the other to run application software.
Now finding a keyboard that met his specifications wasn’t easy, but fortunately, Abe came across IR remote designed for smart TVs with a QWERTY keyboard that was the perfect size. However, he needed to add an adapter PCB, including an I2C GPIO expander chip, to make it a working input keyboard. Slimedeck Zero is running none other than its own Slime OS, which can be found here.
