Robot Decode Lock Pick
You could either use this thermite-powered TEC Torch to melt locks, or use this innovative robot that can decode combination locks in less than a minute. This robot is based on the research of Samy Kamkar and uses his his custom algorithm for cracking combination locks typically in 40-seconds if they don’t have much wear and tear on them.

Simply put, a stepper motor helps the mechanical grip apply a small amount of pressure on the shackle and help find sections on the dial where its movement becomes heavier. The algorithm then begins determining the first and third numbers, and narrow the second number down to just eight selections. The machine automates turns the dial with a stepper motor and pulls the shackle with a servo as well as a rack-and-pinion system, all controlled by an Arduino Nano mounted on a custom PCB.

First number: Turn dial Counter Clockwise while incrementally adding more and more force to the shackle until it suddenly stops. Round down to the nearest whole number and add 14. That is the first number in the combo,” said its creator.
