The Galaxy S25 FE, which will go on sale on September 4, 2025, is the latest in line of Samsung’s Fan Edition phones, which have made a name for themselves by providing flagship-like experiences at a significantly lower cost. Thanks to leaked hands-on photographs (courtesy of FirasAlkasah), complete specs, and software update rumors, a clear picture of a smartphone that strikes a compromise between usefulness and upscale appearances has surfaced.

With dimensions of 161.3 x 76.6 x 7.4 mm and weighing 190g, it’s slightly lighter and smaller than the S24 FE, even with a bigger battery. The aluminum frame increases durability, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protects the front and rear glass. With an IP68 classification, it can survive immersion up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes and is resistant to both dust and water. It comes in 4 colors – Black, Navy, Icy Blue and White and it chooses a sleek yet understated look. Leaked photos show a familiar design with a punch-hole display upfront and a triple camera setup at the back that’s vertically aligned. The silver rings around the lenses are the same as the S24 FE. Some might notice that the chin is a bit thicker than the top S25 models, but the bezels are thin so it’s almost edge to edge.

The S25 FE is powered by the Exynos 2400 chipset, a 10-core CPU with a combination of Cortex-X4, Cortex-A720 and Cortex-A520 cores built on a 4nm process. With 8GB of RAM it can multitask and play games but not as good as the Snapdragon 8 Elite in the higher end S25 series. One of the highlights is the storage options which includes 128GB, 256GB and a new 512GB which is rare for Fan Edition models and good for users who need space for high resolution images, videos or apps. It doesn’t match the raw speed of Samsung’s top of the line devices but early leaks say the device feels “strong” which means snappy performance that should be enough for most users. The chipset and the 4,900mAh battery which is bigger than the S24 FE’s 4,700mAh battery promises strong endurance. With 45W cable charging and 15W wireless charging the charging capabilities are also improved. The latter supports Qi2 standard for increased efficiency but full Qi2 compatibility requires a magnetic case.

The triple camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor with f/1.8 and OIS, as well as an 8MP telephoto with f/2.4 and 3x optical zoom. Pixel binning is used in the same setup as the S23 FE and S24 FE to provide good low light and daylight performance. Up to 4K at 120 frames per second or 8K at 30 frames per second for fluid video capture. The S24 FE’s 10MP front camera is replaced with a 12MP one, which should be better for selfies and video calls. Despite having identical hardware, Samsung’s AI ProVisual Engine should enhance picture processing, maybe color accuracy, and dynamic range through software.

Sharp visuals are produced by a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X with 1080×2340 resolution at 385 PPI, and scrolling is incredibly fluid thanks to a refresh rate of 120 Hz. For streaming and gaming, HDR10+ is perfect. According to leaks, the screen can be read in direct sunlight at a maximum brightness of 1,900 nits. When employing static content or always-on display, LTPO technology allows the display to dynamically adjust the refresh rate to prolong battery life. To prolong the life of the phone, the screen is shielded by Gorilla Glass Victus+ and is resistant to scratches and minor drops.

For the Fan Edition line, price is key and S25 FE hits the sweet spot. It undercuts iPhone 16e and OnePlus 13R with similar specs, starting at $649.99 in US, same as the S24 FE. However, the base 128GB model will start at €679 in Europe, while the 256GB and 512GB should be priced at €809 and €929, respectively.
