Another month, another folding smartphone, and this time, it’s the Samsung In&Out Flip, which debuted at CES 2024. This foldable device sporting a flip-phone-inspired design can be folded 360 degrees, enabling it to achieve a sleeker and thinner design with a single screen that can be folded outwards to allow use of the display even when folded.
Samsung also wanted to improve durability, so they tested the In&Out’s screen in extreme temperatures ranging from -20 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius. Engineers also bounced basketballs on the foldable panels, while the smartphones themselves were subject to rubbing with sand and immersed in water.

In&Out Flip is a technology that can provide a new alternative for consumers who prefer bar-shaped smartphones due to the thickness of foldable products. When folded outwards, both the front and back of the product can be used as a screen, creating a new user experience,” said a Samsung Display representative.
