After making an appearance at CES 2021, the Samsung Odyssey Ark has finally launched globally. It’s now the world’s first 55-inch 1000R curved gaming monitor and boasts a 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time (GtG), an all new Cockpit Mode as well as an exclusive controller, the Ark Dial, which provides the ultimate window into the world of gaming with unparalleled immersion.
There are plenty of other curved gaming monitors, but this is the only to have a Cockpit Mode that lets you rotate the screen with a HAS (Height Adjustable Stand) as well as tilt and pivot functionality for an optimal screen environment. This display utilizes Samsung’s Quantum Matrix Technology with Quantum Mini LEDs to enable ultra-fine and precise control of the densely packed LEDs. Plus, you get 14-bit processing, a sophisticated lighting control technology, and 16,384 black levels for ultra-realistic graphics. You won’t need external speakers either, as it has four speakers utilizing ‘Sound Dome Tech’, including an AI Sound Booster and Dolby Atmos to enhance the surround sound experience. Pre-orders begin on August 15th, priced from $3,500 USD. Mercedes-Benz’s MBUX Hyperscreen is probably the closest automotive equivalent to the Odyssey Ark yet.
