LG’s stretchable display can expand 50%, but Samsung’s 11″ MicroLED can actually pop out towards you in three dimensions. No other technical information was provided, but the placard does state that this display is 120 ppi, or pixels per inch, which basically indicates how many pixels are packed into a square inch of screen space.
Like most other concepts that we’ve seen over the years, the concept may eventually make its way into handsets and other devices, but on a much smaller scale. For example, folding displays have been showcased at CES for at least the past decade, and only recently, within the last 3-4 years, have they been integrated into smartphones.
