The Samsung T9 portable SSD is the company’s first to boast the USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 interface, enabling maximum sequential read/write speeds of 2,000 megabytes-per-second (MB/s). This makes it twice as fast as its predecessor, the T7, allowing users to transfer a 4GB Full HD video in just two seconds.
Available in 1TB ($139.99), 2TB ($239.99) and 4TB ($439.99) capacities, the T9 is about the size of a credit card and sports a reverse carbon pattern design on the surface, giving the SSD rubber a fabric-like feel akin to a luxurious wallet. In case of large file transfer sessions, the drive comes equipped with Samsung’s Dynamic Thermal Guard to efficiently minimizes the performance drops that can be caused by overheating.
