There’s been a letter circulating online that allegedly shows late actor Sean Connery turning down an offer from former Apple CEO Steve Jobs, but like many things on the internet, just a prank. This was originally posted to Scoopertino, a satirical website covering “Unreal Apple News,” but went viral because British marketing executive John Willshire posted it to his Twitter page. Many believed it to be real at first due to the “007” stamp at the bottom.
Believe it or not, this letter first started making the rounds online back in 2011, and just started to resurface after Sir Sean Connery passed, aged 90, peacefully in his sleep, according to his family. His illustrious acting career spanned seven decades, and included such films as The Hunt for Red October, The Untouchables, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and of course portraying James Bond.
