Semi-Automatic Cooking Robot
Fungineering built a semi-automatic cooking robot that can actually make an edible meal, or so we think. The main functionalities it needed to have are the ability to add ingredients and then stir them.

Adding ingredients was accomplished through a combination of rotating dispenser with servo-operated openings for smaller things, while the larger ingredients, went into stainless steel containers arranged around the cooking pot. Large servo motors flipped those containers at set times, placing the contents into the pot. A Raspberry Pi-powered robot arm handled the stirring, along with some scraping when necessary.

One recommendation that I didn’t see: You might want to preload the hoppers with a spring. It’s a waste of power to lift the whole weight of the cups and is bound to cause problems with heavier ingredients later down the line. Just connecting a generic tension spring in parallel with the servo that takes ~80% of the raw weight should be easy based on the design in this video. You could even go over and push with the servo as well if needed, but I personally dislike doing that because of extra inconvenience when powering down,” said one commenter.
