Sherp ATV
We’ve featured the Sherp a few times in the past, but the latest model is worth yet another look. This four-wheeled amphibious vehicle can easily wade through water, thanks to its super buoyant body consisting of independent gas tank in each wheel that are capable of holding 14.5 gallons per tire, for a combined 61 gallons worth of fuel. It’s powered by a Kubota 1.5-liter turbo diesel that generates 44 hp that burns just 0.5 to 0.7 gallons per hour on any terrain, mated to a five speed manual transmission, enabling it to hit 24.5 mph on land and 3.7 mph in water. Happen to find yourself in the desert? There’s a tire inflation and deflation system that can be adjusted at the push of a button, thus enabling the driver to adjust the pressure on the fly. The vehicle is capable of clearing obstacles up to 23-inches high and dispense with gradients of up to 35°.
