It’s official, you can now use the Sony Honda AFEELA EV prototype in the new Gran Turismo 7 1.46 update that was released today. Most are familiar with its hatchback-inspired sedan shape, while several sensing devices can be found on the exterior, including the LiDAR unit at the front of the roof as well as other image / radar sensors.
What you may not know is that the AFEELA’s doors open automatically as an authorized user approaches, so there is no need for door handles. In the front grille, there is a ‘Media Bar’, or a digital display that can either be used for self-expression or even some light gaming. Inside, you’re greeted by a wide dashboard display spanning almost the entire width of the car. It can be used to display a real-time 3D representation of the car’s surroundings taken from the sensor arrays. Last, but not least, an innovative noise cancelling system automatically reduces road noise so the cabin is always whisper quiet.
