Japan-based company Thanko has developed “Turn A Cushion,” a gaming pillow of sorts that can be used comfortably in various positions for long sessions. Unlike a standard pillow, you literally wear this around your waist for added support underneath the arm / elbow area to reduce fatigue from holding a mobile device such as a smartphone or a handheld game console.
Mitsubishi’s Bread Oven is touted as the world’s most expensive toaster, or least mass-produced model, and the device only cooks one piece of bread. How does it work? Well, the Bread Oven seals a single slice of bread inside a metal box and transfers heat through two plates at temperatures as high as 260° Celsius (500° Fahrenheit). Product page.
Bauhutte is a Japanese retailer who has a line of furniture designed for gamers, and their latest is a piece that combines bed, desk and chair into one. It’s officially called the “ultimate gaming bed” and features an elevated headboard, desk, snack holder, tablet arm, and of course a comfortable mattress to keep you rested when you’re in need of a gamer nap.
There was a story in Asahi Shimbun, one of Japan’s largest newspapers, from 70-year-old Kuniko Tsusaka who recounted how her mother always played Tetris on a Game Boy, but when she turned 95, it suddenly stopped working. It was her third Game Boy since she started playing, but unfortunately, there are no stores in Chiba selling a new or used unit, nor were any shops able to fix the broken device. Tsusaka’s son knew that Nintendo has had excellent customer service, and the rest is history.
It’s official, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) confirmed that electrical manufacturing company Mitsubishi Electric will be building the Martian Moons eXploration (MMX) space probe. This mission was previously in the pre-project phase, but became a part of JAXA project last week, following official authorization by the Japanese Government.
The first-generation NSX was designed by a team led by Chief Designer Masahito Nakano and Executive Chief Engineer Shigeru Uehara. It drew inspiration from advanced aerodynamics and the F-16 fighter jet, while late Formula One World Champion, Ayrton Senna, provided input during the final development stages. Japanese tuner Liberty Walk decided to give it a modern widebody makeover with their latest kit.
Japan-based Tone Mobile just launched its latest smartphone, the e20, which uses artificial intelligence in an unusual way to say the least. Simply put, it uses a special algorithm to prevent users from taking drunken / inappropriate photos of themselves or anyone else, while also being able to ‘connect’ with other devices and notify their owner if such a shot has been snapped. SEGA announced today that it will be rolling out Sega Catcher Online, a service that lets people to play real UFO Catcher machines online via their iPhones and Android devices. Simply put, this service enables users to control real crane game machines, such as UFO Catcher online, and can be played whenever and wherever, 24 hours a day. Prizes won in-game will be delivered to a specified address for free.
Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka is coming sooner than later, and new details have surfaced from the official presentation yesterday. When visitors first enter the park, they’ll receive smart wearable wrist bands called “Power Up Bands” that store important information about the park and keep track of how many digital coins they’ve collected during their stay. Nintendo fans rejoice! Charli XCX teamed up with the gaming company showcase Super Nintendo World, the upcoming theme park at Universal Studios Japan. This highly themed section of the park is due to open some time between June to September 2020 and should have two rides to start, but will get more as time goes on.
