Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka is coming sooner than later, and new details have surfaced from the official presentation yesterday. When visitors first enter the park, they’ll receive smart wearable wrist bands called “Power Up Bands” that store important information about the park and keep track of how many digital coins they’ve collected during their stay. Read more for the video and additional information.
Available in Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Toad, and Yoshi styles, the bands work in conjunction with a free mobile app that comes loaded with a map to help find attractions, track achievements and stored user profiles. Nintendo hasn’t yet announced what the coins you collect can be used for, but expect some fun rewards at the very least both digitally and in the physical world (redemption centers for plush, keychains, etc.).
