TBK Intelligent Polishing Machine iPhone
Scratches on a smartphone screen reveal the story of drops, drags, and daily wear. For refurbishers, those marks have resulted in additional hours of disassembly, glass replacement, and reassembly, which has cost them time and money. This is where the TBK-938 Intelligent Polishing Machine comes in, a Shenzhen-made piece of machinery that completes the task in a single sealed, slurry-fed operation.

Wang of TBK talks us through the procedure. Begin with the phone in hand, say an iPhone with a new key scratch across the screen. A short scratch for demonstration reasons, but in real life, it’s whatever damage the item comes with. Next, apply a bead of UV-curable glue to the edges, ports, and buttons. This isn’t a fancy adhesive; it’s a simple compound designed to protect electronics and applied precisely using a CNC mill. The glue hardens under a UV lamp in only a minute, forming a barrier that keeps the muck out of the internals.

That barrier is important since polishing requires grit and water. Once cured, use a razor blade to remove any excess liquid from the screen’s surface. The phone is then placed in a custom mold; TBK has molds for various models including older iPhones and 14 or 15. This allows for 4 phones to be stored upside down and securely at the same time. A scoop of polishing compound is added, then water, which the machine mixes into a fine slurry. The top closes and the water mill spins for 15-20 minutes. Rollers apply adjustable air pressure, various speeds for abrasion. Circulation ensures the liquid flows evenly, a quiet pump handles the rest with minimal noise.

Open the chamber and the scratches are gone, leaving the surface factory fresh. Best of all, there’s no glass thinning; the process removes just enough material to fix the defect without compromising strength. Kevin from TBK demos the whole device but swap the mold and it also works on loose screens which is handy for bulk jobs where screens are sent separately. What was the result? A phone that passes inspection and is ready to resell for full value.

This was built by TBK engineers with the refurbishment business in mind. Traditional methods involve extracting the screen, bonding new cover glass and testing for problems which can take hours per device. Here the whole process including prep and clean up takes less than 30 minutes. 1000 watts in a 700x700x1200mm area, global voltage options. Operators can control the depth of scratches from light scratches to deep gouges with stepless pressure and speed adjustments. The liquid system recycles abrasive and eliminates waste, the mold provides even contact without wobbling.
