This may not look as sleek as the IKEA SYMFONISK, but inventor Matthew Perks’ custom PC soundbar is definitely no slouch. Put simply, normal soundbars designed for television sets are not practical for use on a computer since they produce sound that is directed towards the area directly in front of it. So, this PC soundbar uses speakers angled slightly upwards towards the user’s ears when sitting.
Rather than use flimsy particleboard, Matt decided to handcraft the case from reclaimed wood flooring, which makes it a lot more durable than other materials. Best of all, this soundbar also doubles as a monitor stand, while the speakers are housed in acoustic enclosures on the left / right sides. A soundbar would not be complete without a small subwoofer, and that’s exactly what you’ll find built into the shelf, along with LED lights as well as a USB hub.
