You’ve seen the Robovan, now check out this new Tesla Cybercab wireless charging demo, which shows that its 25kW charge rate. For comparison, a Tesla V3 Supercharger is capable of delivering peak charge rates up to 250kW.
A more fair comparison would be a Level 2 home charger, which can charge at a range of 3 to 19.2 kilowatts (kW) in the United States. This means that with a Tesla Wall Connector, you can expect around a 44-mile range per hour charged. So, a fully charged battery would take between 6 to 12 hours after the vehicle is plugged in, depending on the model. Hopefully, the Tesla Cybercab has an alternative, speedier method of wireless charging, as the vehicle has no external ports.
