Sure, the 1,020-horsepower Tesla Model S Plaid is the quickest vehicle yet from the company, but being able to do 0-60 mph in 1.9-seconds may not be enough when taking on an 1,100-horsepower Palm Beach Dyno Shelby GT500 in the quarter mile. As you can see, the Shelby GT500 finished the quarter mile in 7.91 seconds at a speed of 159.3 mph during the first heat, compared to the Model S Plaid’s 7.97 seconds and 154.94 mph. The second time around, the GT500 manages to be even faster with a 7.66 second time at a speed of 160.94 mph, while the Plaid was only slightly slower at 7.68 seconds and 155.19 mph.
