Whether it be Unreal Engine 5 or 100% redrawn graphics, there are several ways to update the 2003 hit The Simpsons Hit and Run. El Gato Del Tejado chose the latter and has released an update video showing how his newly remastered mod looks, including both gameplay as well as cutscenes.
Thanks to the redrawn graphics via vector shapes, the cutscenes and gameplay look like you’re actually playing an episode of their cartoon series. This game features a sandbox-style format that focuses on driving. The player essentially controls their character from a third-person view while performing certain acts of violence, like attacking pedestrians, blowing up vehicles, and destroying the environment. Think of it as a far less violent GTA, but with The Simpsons characters. You’ll also be able to collect various items including coins for upgrading things, Buzz Cola boxes and wasp cameras.
