This is not an optical illusion, just a real statue of Guan Yu that stands 190-foot-tall and weighs in at a whopping 1320-tons. It sits alongside a Jingzhou city park in the Hubei province of China. The reason for building it? To attract tourists and locals of course. Visitors will also soon be able to walk up a staircase, up the 10m pedestal, and into an 8000 square-meter Guan Yu Museum. “In his right hand, Guan Yu is seen holding his famous ‘Green Dragon Crescent Blade’, an axe-like weapon that weighs over 136 tonnes. Over 4,000 strips of bronze have been glued to the sculpture, which serves as the centrepiece for Jinghzhou’s Guan Yu Park,” reports Twisted Sifter.
