Robert Zemeckis says there will never be a Back to the Future 4, or at least during his lifetime, despite Christopher Lloyd wanting to reprise his role as time traveling scientist Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown in the original trilogy. Thanks to deepfake technology and machine learning, we’re able to see what Tom Holland would look like as Marty Mcfly, originally played by actor Michael J. The first film was the highest-grossing film of 1985 and became an international phenomenon, leading to the second and third films. While the sequels did not perform as well at the box office, the trilogy remains immensely popular and lead to spinoffs as an animated television series as well as motion-simulator rides at the Universal Studios Theme Parks around the world.
