Priced from $45,024 (£35,000), the Little Car Company’s Tamiya Wild One MAX is essentially a life-sized version of the remote-controlled car from 1985 that many grew up with. This 1,102 lb off-road electric vehicle is powered by eight removable battery packs, with a total capacity of 14.4kWh, enabling it to hit a top speed of 60 mph.
Ground clearance is approximately 270mm with a 34.1-degree approach angle, 28.4-degree breakover angle and 50.8-degree departure angle is 50.8 degrees. An optional windscreen and wiper mechanism can be equipped to make the car more practical. The first 100 customers will receive Launch Edition vehicles, which has all of the standard equipment, along with titanium commemorative plaques, carbon fiber dash and a matching key fob. Production is set to begin next year and it will make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this week.

I want to thank all our Tamiya deposit holder community, who have provided us with some invaluable contributions and suggestions for how we can make the Wild One MAX the best possible vehicle. We have listened to every single one of them since the first unveiling and have taken their ideas on board. Their feedback has helped us develop a new type of vehicle which illustrates that electric cars can be fun, without having to rely on brain-scrambling acceleration,” said Ben Hedley, CEO of The Little Car Company.
