There’s the Virgin Hyperloop pod system, and then the TransPod FluxJet. Think of the latter as a hybrid between an aircraft and a train that utilizes contactless power transmission as well as a new field of physics called veillance flux. In other words, it travels in a protected guideway at over 621mph.
During the unveiling event, a scaled-down FluxJet was used in a live demonstration showcasing its flight capabilities. It attempted a take-off, travel, and landing procedure within its guideway. This project is expected to create 140,000 jobs and add $19.2B to the region’s GDP throughout construction. Once complete, it will cost passengers approximately 44% less than a plane ticket to travel the corridor, while reducing CO2 emissions by 636,000 tons per year.
