Imagine sinking into a lie-flat suite, savoring Ossetra caviar with a glass of Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé Champagne, and settling in for a movie on a 27-inch 4K OLED screen—the largest in-flight entertainment display offered by any U.S. carrier. This is the reality United Airlines is crafting with its new Polaris Studio Suites, as part of the “United Elevated” interior for its incoming fleet of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.

For couples, center suites can transform into a double bed with a mattress pad, a feature unique among U.S. airlines and reminiscent of Qatar Airways’ renowned Qsuites. Dining is a highlight, with a caviar amuse-bouche service, exclusive entrée options, and regionally influenced mid-flight tapas available at a new grab-and-go snack bar.

United’s “Elevated” interior isn’t just about the Polaris Studio Suites. The entire Boeing 787-9 fleet, set to debut in late 2025 with inaugural flights in 2026 from San Francisco to Singapore and London, is undergoing a premium-focused overhaul. The new configuration includes 99 premium seats—the most in United’s wide-body fleet—comprising 8 Polaris Studio Suites, 56 upgraded Polaris suites with sliding doors and 19-inch 4K OLED screens, 35 Premium Plus seats with privacy dividers and 16-inch 4K screens, and 123 Economy/Economy Plus seats with 13-inch 4K OLED screens, the largest in the world for economy class.

Economy passengers aren’t left out, with Bluetooth connectivity, multiple power outlets per row, and a “cradling seat bottom” for enhanced comfort. Premium Plus seats feature soft-touch materials and quartzite cocktail tables, while all cabins benefit from free Starlink Wi-Fi for MileagePlus members.

The first Elevated 787-9 is slated to join United’s fleet by late 2025, with passenger flights launching in 2026 on routes like San Francisco to Singapore and London. While pricing details for the Polaris Studio Suites remain undisclosed, United has confirmed they will be priced higher than standard Polaris seats, with uncertainty around whether mileage redemptions or PlusPoints will apply.

We already deliver a superior international experience and fly to the most places across the Atlantic and Pacific – these new innovations provide a more premium experience overall, give customers even more reasons to choose United, and set our airline up to grow into the next decade and beyond. We never stand still and are always looking for more ways to set ourselves apart from other carriers. And we’re confident this elevated experience will take international flying to new heights,” said Andrew Nocella, EVP and Chief Commercial Officer at United.
