Unreleased Days of Thunder NES Video Game
Remember the Hollywood movie “Days of Thunder” from Paramount Pictures in 1990, starring Tom Cruise? If so, did you know that there was an unfinished video game based on that film? That’s right, The Video Game History Foundation discovered this gem, developed by the late Chris Oberth. Before its official release, the game was canceled by Mindscape for unknown reasons.

This reconstruction was made possible due to the discovery of the source files spanning 40 different floppy disks acquired from Oberth’s family vault. Programmers spent weeks compiling the data and assembling the previously unseen Days of Thunder NES video game. The complete source code for the game will eventually become available on GitHub for developers to tinker with.
