Aldekas Studio always wondered what would happen if you turned a Volkswagen Beetle into motorbike, and thus the Volkspod was born. Rather than the rear-located, air-cooled four-cylinder, boxer engine, the powertrain is now centrally-located.
Making this project a reality isn’t just a fantasy, as a used Volkswagen Beetle can be picked up for under $5,000 USD in decent condition. The only problem would be coming up with a design that is comfortable to ride for more than just a few minutes, or more importantly, street legal. This concept would need a rear view mirror, turn signals, a working horn, an EPA-approved muffler, and a few more small items.
