Wodle Solving Robot
H/t: Gizmodo
One Wordle fan loves the game, but needed help at times, and what better way than by turning a 3D printer in a robot capable of solving the puzzles? For those who still have not yet played the game, you’re basically given six chances to guess a five-letter word, with each failed guess revealing which letters are in the solution. To make this robot a reality, a Creality 3D printer and Raspberry Pi was used to build a robot that can recognize colors, allowing it to understand letter placement, while custom source code enables it to solve the daily Wordle challenge.

As you can see, the Raspberry Pi Camera is used to capture images of the screen for positioning and to monitor the game’s feedback, while the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B itself serves as the robot main controller. It solves Wordle puzzles by starting with a random word and then uses image recognition to interpret feedback as well as which letters carry over to the next guess. This isn’t the quickest process, since after each guess is made, the Raspberry Pi has to scour the dictionary for possible five-letter words that can be spelled using the correctly guessed letters.
