World Record Elephant Toothpaste Reaction Experiment
Before we get into the world record attempt, elephant’s toothpaste is basically a foamy substance caused by the rapid decomposition of hydrogen peroxide using potassium iodide or yeast and warm water as a catalyst. David Dobrik teamed up with Nick Uhas to create a world record elephant toothpaste reaction that explodes over the former’s Los Angeles home. Read more to see how it all went down.

To start things off, Nick Uhas shows off the calculations, ingredients, and contraption he used for this foamy experiment, and once everything is set up, a team of “vlog squad” members release the catalyst, thus causing the ingredients to expand rapidly into a towering volcano of blue foam. This explosion spills over Dobrik’s glass-walled balcony and standing above his roof, and there’s so much foam that some floats away toward the end.
