Augmented reality smart contact lenses may be years away, but the Xiaomi Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition can be tested at Mobile World Congress 2023 starting today. These are touted as the first wireless AR glasses to utilize distributed computing, along with a retina-level adaptive display capable of adjusting to various lighting environments.



Weighing just 126g, these glasses incorporate Xiaomi-developed high-speed interconnection buses to achieve high-speed data connection from a smartphone. It’s built on Snapdragon XR2 Gen 1 platform, which means that these Snapdragon Spaces XR Developer Platform-supported glasses offer a wireless latency of as low as 3ms between the smartphone device to the glasses. They also feature micro gesture interaction that enables one-handed, precise pure gesture interaction. There’s no word yet on pricing or availability.
