Hate parallel parking and don’t have autopilot? There’s ZF EasyTurn technology, which is essentially a custom suspension system that allows a vehicle’s front wheels to turn up to 80-degrees. One caveat: this system is only suitable for front wheel drive cars, but with that said, it will most certainly work on the all-electric BMW i3.
There’s no details yet about the system and when it will be available, although the demonstration video does show a BMW i3 using it to back into tight spaces as well as making near impossible u-turns. Never heard of the ZF Group? They specialize in engineering, primarily known for its design, research & development, and manufacturing activities in the automotive industry. We’re still waiting for the Hennessey Project Deep Space, the world’s first six-wheel-drive electric hypercar.
