Waiting on couriers vans may be a thing of the past, thanks to the Zipline P2 Zip delivery drones. Each one is capable of flying more than 300-feet above ground before a delivery droid is deployed down a tether and steered to the correct location before dropping off its package, whether it be a small table or your front steps.
The P2 Zip drone has a 10-mile service radius while carrying a 6-8 pound payload for out-and-back deliveries from a single dock. Even more impressive is its ability to fly up to 24 miles one way from dock to dock, charging at each one before picking up its next delivery. Since these drones move from dock to dock, Zipline can dynamically respond to peak order times to ensure there’s enough delivery capacity for an urgent parcels or even meals. Zipline plans on conducting high-volume tests later this year that will involve about 100 aircraft.
