Investors who attended the annual Tesla Annual Shareholder Meeting yesterday might have caught a glance at a 2020 Roadster prototype and its unique butterfly steering wheel. For those who weren’t able to attend, Electrek recorded a Tesla employee steering a red Roadster around in a parking lot, showing the steering wheel in action.
You’ll see very little grip space on it and even the Tesla guy is heard on camera saying that this steering wheel takes ‘some getting used to.’ Although it looks fun and futuristic, chances are it won’t be to everyone’s liking. There can definitely be some safety concerns being raised as well, so it remains to be seen whether or not the production version of the Tesla Roadster will feature a butterfly steering wheel. If that’s the case, we could be waiting longer than expected.
