It’s official, the 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 set a new Nürburgring Nordschleife record for production cars with a manual transmission. Brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister was behind the wheel and managed to lap the 20.832 km track in 6:56.294 minutes, beating the previous manual-transmission record (held by a Dodge Viper ACR) by over 9.5 seconds.
Interestingly enough, this time also improved on the predecessor 911 GT3 (992.1) with a PDK automatic by 3.633 seconds, despite the manual gearbox requiring more driver effort. Power comes from a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six boxer engine making 502 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The record-setting car was equipped with the optional Weissach Package, which includes weight-saving measures like carbon-fiber components and a lighter lithium-ion battery, and it ran on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires (255/35 R20 front, 315/30 R21 rear). Now the burning question that many have is…how much? Well, the 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 with the six-speed manual transmission starts at $224,495, while the Weissach Package adds another $35,000 – $38,000.

More and more customers of the 911 GT3 are opting for the six-speed manual transmission. And more and more often we are asked by these customers how fast a 911 GT3 with manual transmission would be on the Nordschleife. We have now answered this question and – although we know that the variant with PDK is significantly faster – drove our lap time with a manual six-speed gearbox,” said Andreas Preuninger, Director GT Cars.
