BMW M4 CSL vs Porsche 911 GT3 Drag Racing
The 2023 BMW M4 CSL has arrived, and it’s definitely no slouch, even against the Porsche 911 GT3. It’s powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0L straight-six engine making 542 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque, mated to an 8-speed M Steptronic transmission, enabling it to hit 60 mph and 3.5-seconds, while topping out at an electronically limited 191 mph.

Now you may be surprised to hear the the Porsche 911 GT3 is the less powerful of the two, as it packs a naturally aspirated 4.0L flat-six engine producing 503 hp and 347 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox that helps the vehicle accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2.7-seconds and max out at 197 mph. Now we’d like to see these two vehicles pit against the BMW M4 GT4 race car.

Like the engine in the new BMW M4 CSL, its chassis technology benefits from a wealth of detail upgrades – which have been tailored to the power unit’s performance characteristics. These modifications also factor in the substantial reduction in vehicle weight at play here and the model-specific improvements to body rigidity, allowing the blend of handling agility, dynamism and precision for which BMW M cars are renowned to be taken to new heights,” said the company.
