Gamer Taki Udon managed to find a used GHLBD calculator for just $10 and then hacked it to run DOOM Eternal, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Kart and more. This is possible because the hardware comes from old tablets including a quad-core Allwinner A50 processor and 1GB of RAM, all running on Android 9.
Sure, the GHLBD calculator on its own isn’t very useful, but after being hacked to run a full launcher, the sky is the limit. For Taki Udon, this meant installing a variety of classic gamge console emulators and ROMS. Anyone who has tried playing games on graphic calculators like the TI-84 Plus CE know that the buttons just don’t work like they should. So, an 8BitDo SN30 Pro was connected to the GHLBD via Bluetooth. Fortunately, DOOM Eternal has on-screen touch controls.
