Amazon has completed its first drone delivery in San Salvo, a town in Italy’s Abruzzo region. The test involved an MK-30 drone, which is the company’s latest highly automated drone system that uses Amazon’s industry-leading computer vision program.
This computer vision program enables the drones to move safely away from obstacles to ensure the safety of people, animals and property, while also helping the drones stay away from other aircraft in the operating area. Prime Air Italy is expected to begin commercial service in 2025.
