During E3 2015 in Los Angeles, AMD Project Quantum was revealed and it was touted as the best PC for a virtual reality experience. The concept was based on their Fiji GPU, with just a few prototypes built for internal use at AMD headquarters. ‘Stand Up Gamer’ is one fan who decided to make this concept into a reality.
Aside from the 3D-printed parts, this custom ASRock DeskMini X300W PC is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 5700G APU and 32GB of DDR4 memory. Since it utilizes an integrated GPU, the graphics subsystem has to rely on the APU thermals for cooling. There were discussions at AMD about bringing Project Quantum to market in 2020 with their new Zen CPU and Vega GPU, but those talks quickly dissipated as PC demand waned.
