Apple CarPlay Hack Update Tesla Adnroid
Developer Michał Gapiński has just released an updated Apple CarPlay hack that now works on all Tesla Models. Called Tesla Android 2022.25.1, it supports DRM video playback and boasts an orientation lock so apps can automatically launch in landscape mode. How does it work? It consists of a Raspberry Pi connected to an LTE modem and WiFi access point, all running custom Android-based firmware.

How do you launch this Apple CarPlay hack? You simply use the browser to connect the Raspberry Pi to the CarPlay interface on the Tesla infotainment screen. One connected, it can be used while driving, Maps and Music included. Plus, the media buttons can be used to control the system on the Tesla’s steering wheel. Unfortunately, Tesla has not yet announced when CarPlay will officially be supported. You can download it here now. However, the Apple electric car project could use a Tesla-inspired carOS platform.
