Apple iOS 17 WWDC Features
Apple iOS 17 is a new major release for iPhones that introduces several new features including StandBy, a full-screen experience designed to provide users with glanceable information while charging on its side. This means that it would be perfect for nightstands, desks, or kitchen counters and can be customized with clock styles, photos and widgets including SmartStacks, which show the right widgets at the proper time.

This release also brings a revamped Phone app experience with personalized Contact Posters and Live Voicemail with real-time transcription as well as the ability to instantly decline spam calls. FaceTime now supports audio and video messages, so you can share more personalized messages that can be viewed later. Messages also gets a fresh new design, complete with Live Stickers, an expandable menu, and Check In for when a user wants to contact a family member or friend to let them know they’ve arrived at a destination safely. The iOS 17 beta is available to Apple Developer Program members starting today and the public beta can be accessed in July.

With iOS 17, we’ve made iPhone more personal and intuitive by deeply considering the features we all rely on every day. Phone, FaceTime, and Messages are central to how we communicate, and this release is packed with updates we think our users are going to love. We’ve also reimagined AirDrop with new ways to share, autocorrect gets even better, and we’re introducing all-new experiences with Journal and StandBy, plus so much more. We can’t wait for everyone to try it,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering.
