Baidu Robocar Apollo L5 Autonomous Driving
Baidu CEO Robin Li unveiled the company’s first robocar at the Baidu World 2021 showcase yesterday. This electric vehicle boasts L5 autonomous driving capabilities and is more like an intelligent robot rather than a car. How so? It’s capable of moving, communicating and learning. In other words, the robocar will be able to drive at the same capability as a human, thanks to Level 5 autonomous technology. Read more for two videos, including an inside look.

This means that passengers can even take a nap during their travels, and the interior is large enough for one to stretch, similar to that of a first class suite aboard a jumbo jet. Alongside the robocar, Baidu also revealed their Luobo Kuaipao robotaxi mobile platform, which aims to ultimately commercialize autonomous driving. It would make hailed autonomous vehicles accessible to the broader public.
