
First introduced way back in 2016, the all-electric Lucid Air is finally headed to production this year and will be officially unveiled at the New York Auto Show on April 8th. The prototype is powered by two electric motors that produce a combined 1,000 hp, paired with either a 100 kWh or 130 kWh battery pack, priced starting from $100,000. Around 4-years-ago astronomers discovered a potentially habitable planet called Proxima b around the star Proxima Centauri, which is just 4.2 light-years from Earth. Now, they’ve found a second signal they believe belongs to a super-Earth orbiting the same star. Proxima Centauri, the closest star to our sun, is a low-mass red dwarf star known as an M-class dwarf and located in a triple star system known as Alpha Centauri, including binary pair Alpha Centauri AB. Israel-based Nanox created an X-ray machine that appears to be straight from the Star Trek universe, and it’s called the ARC. The company aims to make low-cost medical scanning available to people around the world with a much smaller footprint than current machines. The FCC has just published images of a Jigglypuff-shaped Bluetooth speaker by GameStop’s ThinkGeek brand, and this may hint at a line of Pokemon-themed gadgets to come in the near future. No technical specifications have been officially released, but if you read through the filing, it connects to compatible devices via Bluetooth 5.0 or 3.5mm headphone jack, while offering 4-10 hours of battery life on a full charge depending on volume.

NASA’s Juno spacecraft has captured an amazing photo of Jupiter’s dynamic surface, or to be more specific, a multitude of swirling clouds in the planet’s dynamic North North Temperate Belt with several bright-white “pop-up” clouds as well as an anticyclonic storm, known as a white oval. Two citizen scientists composited the photograph using data from the spacecraft’s JunoCam imager, and an anticyclonic storm, known as a white oval, can also be seen in the image.

Toyota Motor Co. announced today that it’s investing $394 million in Joby Aviation, a company that is currently developing electric air taxis that will eventually transport people over gridlocked highways and city streets. This makes the California-based Joby the best-funded “eVTOL” (electric vertical take-off and landing) startup to date, with a total of $720 million raised thus far.
