CherryTree Geefarce 5027POS Micro Computer PC Inside Video Card
CherryTree Computers unveils the GeeFarce 5027POS Micro Computer, a fully functional PC packed inside the hollowed-out shell of an ASUS Aorus RTX 2070 graphics card.

The team took a dead RTX 2070, stripped its innards, and kept only the chassis and a sliced-up heatsink. Inside this unlikely shell, they stuffed an ASUS NUC 13, a compact beast with a 13th-gen Intel Core i7, 64GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 2TB NVMe SSD. This isn’t a low-spec rig built just for show, it’s a machine that could handle video editing or modern games with ease.

Disassembling the RTX 2070 was no easy feat, as it’s packed with VRAM, capacitors, and cooling systems built to tame blistering chips. CherryTree had to cut down to create space, and the PCB was reduced to bare essentials. What remained was an empty GPU shell, just roomy enough for the NUC’s motherboard. Wiring was a tangled mess, with heatshrink tubing and cables weaving through the chassis like roots in an untamed forest.

Fitting the Asus NUC 13 was where CherryTree’s cleverness truly sparkled. It packs an Intel Core i7-1360P processor, with 12 cores and a 5GHz boost, 64GB of RAM, and a 2TB NVMe drive, which offers plenty of space for games, media, or creative work. The NUC’s motherboard was precisely positioned within the GPU’s chassis, secured with custom mounts. Power delivery posed another challenge—NUCs typically use external bricks, but CherryTree engineered an internal solution, keeping the build self-contained.

Cooling, unsurprisingly, was tricky. Graphics cards are designed to vent heat from a single, power-hungry chip, not an entire system. The RTX 2070’s modified heatsink was repurposed to manage the NUC’s CPU and SSD heat, with the GPU’s original fans providing additional airflow. Gamers Nexus noted the setup runs hot, with temperatures testing the limits of comfort. Future versions might explore liquid cooling or better fans.

Ports are accessible via the GPU’s rear I/O panel, with the NUC’s USB, HDMI, and Ethernet connections rerouted through custom cutouts. Booting it up reveals a standard Windows 11 setup, ready for any task a modern PC can handle.
