Unlike standard LCD and OLED panels, microLED basically consists of microscopic LEDs forming the individual pixel elements, thus offering better contrast, response times, and energy efficiency. With that said, C-SEED’s new M1 is touted as the world’s first foldable 165-inch microLED TV. When not in use, the display is stored as a sculpture-like column in the floor, but at the push of a button, the solid block of aviation-grade aluminum alloy rises silently from the floor, unfolding to reveal the massive viewing area.
For the deepest and most accurate black color accuracy, C-SEED treated the display with a special screen surface coating, while built-in HDR Plus (High Dynamic Range) and Adaptive Gap Calibration Technology (AGC) makes the borders between the display´s wings almost invisible. The company partnered with designer Stefan Pani created a smart, convincing frame design with a hidden high performance speaker system on its strikingly elegant base. There’s no word yet on pricing or availability, but buyers will be able to choose from four colors as well as various casings.
