It’s not The Beast, but this custom go-kart can go where others can’t. Preston Summerrow of Prestongoes built this kart specially to travel on the railroad that leads to the Goat Canyon Trestle Bridge on the south side of the Anza-Borrego Desert in California.
This followup to Preston’s Railroad Kart 1.0 replace the rusted wheels with another cylindrical set, but as you’re about to see, things do work out for the better…somewhat. What are the alternatives to building a custom go-kart for railroad tracks? Well, if a six-mile round trip hike is something you’re interested in, that could also be an option.
- Upped the Game: The Gokart PRO comes with a top speed of 23 mph and 15.5 miles range within one single charge.
- Keep Your Safe: The Ninebot Gokart PRO comes with a high-strength steel frame that can carry a payload of up to 220 lbs and max slope of 15 degree...
- Drift like a Pro: The Gokart PRO has an RR design, the rear engine and the rear-wheel-drive are set up like supercars. Equipped with 4,800W Max engine...
Railroader here. Okay so what i would recommend is getting wheels from an old hi rail truck or a push cart. Go to the local rail yard and ask around. I’m sure if you show up with a decent bottle of whiskey im sure someone could hook ya up. They run about $1,3000 CAD brand new. So maybe a couple bottles. Scrap yards maybe? But id recommend something thats built specifically for that purpose,” said one commenter.
